Moving along

Well as I guessed the internal rough-ins are now well underway.  The evaporative cooling and ducted heating is all now in, and the sliding doors and frames have been delivered.  I spoke to our SS last week and the frame check/levelling (there is a name for it but can’t think of it) will be done this week, as will the electrical rough-in for the lights and power points.  Plaster is scheduled for the week after.  We have booked an independent inspection for pre-plaster just to have everything double checked.

Apparently there is  brickie shortage!!  So that explains the non-bricked situation.  We may have found out own brickie, through Paul’s dad, so we have passed his details on, fingers crossed he and the SS can sort something out – I would hope our house would be the first to get bricked if they do!

Roof!

The roof appeared on Thursday, which is great as the internal fitout can now proceed. The data and TV wiring has already gone in, we are guessing that the ducted heating, evaporative cooling, and electrical fitout is next internally, with bricks externally.

I call this one ‘a quiet moment of contemplation’

Windows and insulation wrap

No news yet on the roof unfortunately BUT the windows were delivered and installed and the insulation wrap has been done, ready for the bricks…. hopefully a roof is coming soon!  Will be chasing up our SS again tomorrow….  the doorframes – front, garage etc – have also been installed.

Very happy with the windows- colour, style and quality.

Plumbing rough-in

Not a huge amount to report unfortunately.  The roof isn’t on yet – the SS has advised that we are waiting on something roof-frame related to be signed off by the engineer (or surveyor or someone) before they start loading the tiles on.

Apparently the windows were still on schedule for this week but they haven’t been delivered as yet.  The windows are holding up the bricks being done so hopefully we see some action on this next week.  The steel beam that we noticed at the block – which then disappeared – has been replaced with a wider version so it seems that the initial one was incorrect.  I understand that this goes above the sliding doors in the rumpus.

However, the plumbing has been ‘roughed-in’ – all the pipes connected to the various points, including the external tap points. So that was good to see!
